Pig and the Lady Review:
Living on Oahu, we’re lucky to have access to restaurants owned by some of the best chefs in the country. The Pig and The Lady by Chef Andrew Le in Chinatown is one of our favorites. If you love good food, Honolulu’s Chinatown is the place to be. The Pig and the Lady serves up modern takes on Vietnamese and Southeast Asian dishes.
We ordered curbside pick up from them, which was ready to go in 25 min. We can’t go to P&L without having their famous Lao Fried Chicken, which is one of the transformative fried chicken experiences of our lives. Depending on the week, extra crispy chicken wings or thighs are tossed in a sauce of lemongrass and makrut leaf and topped with pickled red onion, peanuts, red cabbage, and cilantro.
We followed that up with caramelized coconut water braised pork belly with Daikin and egg served with their yellow chicken fat rice and a cold-brewed Pandan Jasmine Iced Tea. For dessert, Lilikoi (passion fruit) Malasadas, filled with the most insane Lilikoi curd. We pulled over to a local park and ate family picnic-style outside.
